What to Wear to Your Appointment at Pritchett Bridal

One of the most common questions brides ask before coming in is: “What should I wear to my bridal appointment?” While there’s no strict dress code, a little preparation can make your appointment smoother and help you feel your best while trying on dresses. Here are our top tips to help you get ready.

Keep Your Makeup Soft and Natural

When it comes to makeup, we recommend soft glam instead of full glam. You want to feel beautiful and like yourself, but lighter makeup helps reduce the chance of makeup transferring onto the gowns. A fresh, natural look is perfect for trying on dresses.

Come With Your Hair Clean and Styled

We suggest arriving with your hair clean and styled similarly to how you might wear it on your wedding day. This can help you better visualize the full bridal look when you find a dress you love.

It’s also a great idea to bring a claw clip or ponytail holder so you can quickly put your hair up and see how the dress looks with an updo.

Plan Your Spray Tan Carefully

We all love a good tan, but if you’re planning to self-tan before your appointment, we recommend doing it a few days in advance. This helps prevent any tanning product from transferring onto the dresses while you’re trying them on.

Wear the Right Undergarments

The best thing you can do is wear the exact undergarments you plan to wear on your wedding day.

For many brides, that might be a nude bra and seamless underwear, but whatever you’re planning to wear under your gown is what you should bring to your appointment. This helps you get the most accurate feel for how the dress will look and fit.

Shoes Are Optional

During a bridal appointment, you’ll likely be in and out of dresses pretty quickly, so heels can sometimes add an extra layer of difficulty.

That said, if you’d like to bring your wedding shoes to try on with “the one”, you’re absolutely welcome to do so!

The Most Important Tip

Come prepared, come open-minded, and get ready to have fun. Trying on wedding dresses should be a special, exciting experience — and we’ll take care of the rest.
